Visiones de Mexico en Colombia: September and October show off Mexican culture in the Gabriel Garcia Marquez Cultural Center, on 11th Ave. in La Candelaria. (The cultural center was built by the Mexican government, because Marquez has lived many years in Mexico, but contains nothing about the Colombian novelist.)
– Aug. 6-15 Bogotá’s summer festival includes kite flying, music, bullfighting and even movies.
Amateur Bullfighting Season – The first two weekends of August aspiring bullfighters show their skills in the Santamaria Bullfighting Stadium. Tickets are free and available in the stadium’s box office.
– Aug. 2 to 6, on the Eje Ambiental, in La Candelaria
