La Merced Neighborhood
La Merced, on the south side of the National Park, is a piece of London in the heart of Bogotá. The houses were built in the 1930s and ’40s by the British Petroleum Company to make its executives feel as though they were back home. Today, most of the houses are occupied by offices, clubs and universities.
