– On the corner of 14th St. and 3rd Ave, between Hostals Sue and Fatima and across the street from the Hotel Aragon. But the very new Casa Deco is an expensive, high-class hotel – something new for this mostly no-frills neighborhood. Hotel Abadia Colonial
and tea room – 2-32 11th Ave. Tel: 341-1884 Fax: 341-2672 This colonial house was beautifully renovated by its Italian owner to create this small hotel on 11th St. between 2nd and 3rd Aves. The hotel’s restaurant serves Italian and Colombian dishes.

Hotel de la Opera
– This 5-star hotel on 10th Street is the class of the neighborhood, located just a block from Plaza Bolivar.
– This economical hotel is set back from the Ave. Jimenez, located conveniently near the Museo de Oro, Transmilenio and 7th Ave. Most of its business is from Colombians, who come on weekends, so during weekdays there’s usually room!

– 13-12 4th Ave. Tel: 243-3818 / 286-1580 This is one of several La Candelaria hotels which cater to Israeli travelers. The hotel has a kosher restaurant.

– This small hotel is located in the Callejon del Embudo – or the ‘funnel street,’ which leads to the Plaza del Chorro.
La Vieja Suiza – This small, inexpensive hotel in a handsome building on the corner of 14th St. and Carrera 3, two blocks from El Chorro de Quevedo, is run by two young Swiss guys. The six-room hotel has private rooms with shared baths.

Hotel Zaragoza – 4-56 Ave. Jimenez – Tel: 284-5411 / 608-8291 From the look of its exterior, this place isn’t luxury. But it’s not expensive, either. And it’s got a fine location on Jimenez Ave., near the Gold Museum and the station of the same name.
- The Platypus Hostel now also has a hotel, located right around the corner, on Third Ave., facing Jimenez Ave.
Hotel El Dorado – Tel: 334-3988 – Calle 15 and Carrera 4. Not a fancy place, but inexpensive and conveniently located. About half of the rooms have private baths. There’s lots of nightlife around the corner, so bring earplugs if your window faces Carrera 4 and you retire early.
